Since the northern end of Layan Beach Phuket connects directly into Sirinat National Park, visitors accessing the park zone must pay an entry fee at the checkpoint:

Important Note: Keep in mind that there are no ATMs near Layan Beach. Make sure to carry enough cash (Thai Baht) to cover park entrance, parking fees, beach massages, and food, as card payments are generally not accepted along the beach.

Swimming & Safety at Layan Beach

Swimming is possible at Layan Beach Phuket, but conditions depend heavily on the specific spot and the time of year.

Ideal Season: From November to April (high season), the sea is calm, crystal-clear, and shallow.
The Safe Zone: The northern bay, sheltered by Koh Kala and the estuary sandbar, offers calm waters protected from open swells.
Watch the Flags: During the monsoon season (May to October), currents can be strong. Always respect the safety flags and avoid entering the water if red warning flags are posted.
Not for Surfing or Snorkeling: Layan Beach Phuket is not a surfing beach due to its sheltered location and gentle swell breaking over shallow sandbars. It is also not suitable for snorkeling because of its sandy seabed.

Dining, Relaxation, and Beach Massages

Located right on the sand under the shade of the Casuarina trees, Tan Restaurant & Massage is the only restaurant located directly on the beachfront. It offers reasonably priced, authentic Thai food, making it an ideal spot for a beachfront lunch or a relaxing meal by the sea.

In addition to serving delicious local dishes, the venue provides beach umbrellas and sun loungers for rent, along with clean restroom facilities reserved for guests. Right next to the dining area in a traditional bamboo hut, you can enjoy a classic Thai massage (around 400 baht for one hour, or 500 baht for a cooling Aloe Vera treatment to soothe your skin after sun exposure).

The area offers a limited selection of places to stay, as strict environmental regulations prevent large-scale commercial development directly on the sand. Accommodation choices near the beach are primarily focused on high-end luxury resorts and private retreats tucked just behind the coastal trees or along the nearby hills.

How to Get to Layan Beach

Reaching Layan Beach by car or scooter is straightforward and scenic. From Bang Tao Beach, follow the signs leading toward the Banyan Tree Resort. Pass the main resort entrance and continue until you reach a T-junction, where you will turn right. From there, follow the road for a couple of kilometers as it leads straight to the beachfront area at the very end.

The drive is easy and well-paved, though it is best to proceed slowly on the final stretch where parked cars along the roadside can make the lane somewhat narrow.
