I decided to give La Casa, an Italian restaurant, a try, and I was pleasantly surprised by my experience. As soon as you arrive, you’re greeted by a lovely outdoor seating area that beckons for al fresco dining, especially on a warm evening. The interior is equally inviting, featuring an elegant design that truly captures the essence of Italy. The tables are beautifully set with yellow and pink tablecloths, creating a vibrant yet cozy ambience. Gold-colored cutlery adds a touch of sophistication and charm to each place setting.

Throughout the restaurant, the air is filled with the delightful sounds of a soft music, enhancing the overall experience and transporting you to the heart of Italy. Upon entering, I was warmly welcomed by the friendly and smiling staff, who made me feel right at home. They graciously escorted me to my table, ensuring I was comfortable and ready to enjoy my meal. The level of service was impeccable, setting the perfect tone for what was to come.

La Casa is truly a fantastic spot for enjoying a meal, whether you are on a romantic date or having a casual gathering with friends. The inviting atmosphere and attentive service create a memorable dining experience that I highly recommend to anyone seeking authentic Italian cuisine.

The menu of La Casa is superbly illustrated with real photos and item descriptions in English and Italian. Currently, there is no separate children’s menu; however, you can request a half portion that will be served in a children’s set, and kids will love it. They will love it. Additionally, La Casa offers a Halal-certified menu specifically designed for Muslims who adhere to Islamic dietary laws (Sharia), ensuring that all food is prepared and sourced according to these guidelines.

The drink menu offers an extensive selection to cater to all tastes, including refreshing beers, expertly crafted cocktails, and soft drinks. Among these options, you’ll find 20 meticulously curated Italian wines that showcase the rich winemaking heritage of Italy. Among the highlights are the prestigious red wines Barolo, known for its robust flavor and ageing potential; Amarone Della Valpolicella, a rich and velvety wine made from semi-dried grapes; and Brunello di Montalcino, celebrated for its depth and complexity.

Each of these wines brings a unique character that enhances any dining experience, adding a touch of sophistication. Given Italy’s reputation for producing exceptional wines, we encourage you to ask their knowledgeable manager for personalized recommendations to find the perfect pairing for your meal.

To fully enjoy your Italian restaurant experience, start with an enticing appetizer that sets the tone for your meal. Consider ordering a finely crafted Salmon Tartar, featuring fresh, diced salmon seasoned with a touch of citrus and herbs, or opt for a Cold Cut Platter, which offers a delightful assortment of cured meats like prosciutto, salami, and mortadella. This dish is perfect for sharing and encourages lively conversation among friends.

For the main course, indulge in a classic pasta dish. The Spaghetti Vongole, tossed with succulent clams, garlic, and a splash of white wine, is a timeless choice that highlights the simplicity and brilliance of Italian cuisine. Alternatively, the Lasagna Bolognese features layers of rich meat sauce, creamy béchamel, and perfectly cooked pasta baked to golden perfection. To cap off your dining experience, take a moment to savor a traditional Italian Espresso, its rich aroma and robust flavor providing the perfect pick-me-up. Complement it with a chilled Limoncello, a refreshing lemon-flavored liqueur that adds a zesty touch to your meal’s conclusion. This combination will surely leave you enchanted and satisfied. Enjoy your culinary journey!

Being Italian, I was tempted to try different dishes. So I decided to bring some Italian friends to try the Italian cuisine of La Casa restaurant and also to spend a cheerful evening.

We decided to indulge ourselves with a delightful mixed cold cuts platter, accompanied by warm focaccia, ideal for sharing among 2 to 3 people. In Italian, this dish is known as Tagliere d’affettati. The platter featured an exquisite selection of six cured meats, each with a unique flavor and texture. In the center, we found an assortment of pickles that added a tangy contrast to the richness of the meats. This classic Italian appetizer proved irresistible, and we devoured it quickly. For an enhanced experience, I highly recommend pairing it with a glass of crisp white wine.

Following the cold cuts, we were served a beautifully presented Salmon tartare artfully arranged with creamy avocado and rich burrata cheese, referred to in Italian as Tartara di salmone, avocado e burrata. The freshness of the salmon combined harmoniously with the buttery avocado and the smoothness of the burrata, creating a delightful medley of flavors and textures. Each bite was refreshing and left our palates invigorated. For enthusiasts of salmon and burrata cheese, this dish is an absolute must-try!

To continue our culinary journey, we eagerly explored the La Casa menu and chose three mouthwatering dishes: Lasagna Bolognese, Spaghetti Seafood, featuring a medley of fresh seafood, and Risotto with Nduja and Burrata, promising a rich and spicy flavor. The aroma of these beautifully plated dishes was captivating, and they arrived cooked al dente, satisfying our cravings perfectly.

Lasagna Bolognese is a typical, rich and tasty dish with layers of homemade egg pasta, dressed with the classic traditional ragù, béchamel and grated cheese. You should try this authentic Italian dish. You will love it!

Still feeling hungry, we opted for a classic Italian dish: Grilled Beef Sirloin, served with fresh rocket, shaved parmesan, and roasted potatoes, known as Tagliata di Carne. The steak was beautifully char-grilled, tender, and cooked medium-rare to our liking, allowing its flavors to shine. We paired this delightful dish with a glass of robust red wine, which complemented the meal beautifully. Overall, it was an exceptional dining experience that left us thoroughly satisfied.

We paired the sliced meat with mixed grilled vegetables. The Grilled mixed vegetables offer a vibrant and healthy meal option, showcasing the natural sweetness of vegetables when exposed to high heat and charring. The grilling process was perfect, making it a more flavorful and delicious way to enjoy a variety of vegetables. It’s a great dish for sharing among friends.

While looking at the La Casa menu, we decided to indulge in the fish section, choosing the Octopus in burrata cream and the mixed fried shrimp, calamari, and courgettes. The Octopus in burrata cream was beautifully presented and perfectly cooked, with the creamy burrata complementing the dish excellently, creating a delightful and satisfying flavor experience. It’s definitely a must-try! On the other hand, the Mixed Fried Fish was served in a leaf-shaped dish, making it visually stunning and perfect for a photo opportunity. This dish is simple yet excellent, making it ideal for sharing among friends.

As we delved into the dessert section of the menu, our excitement grew at the thought of indulging in some delightful treats. We eventually settled on three popular choices: a classic Tiramisu, a decadent Chocolate Lava Cake, and a striking Chocolate Cylinder filled with rich zabaglione cream. These desserts seemed perfect for sharing among friends, promising to elevate our dining experience to new heights. When the desserts arrived, the first taste was nothing short of a symphony of flavors erupting in our mouths. It was difficult to find the precise words to encapsulate the remarkable freshness and sheer deliciousness of each dish.

However, the Tiramisu stood out distinctly among the trio. Its luscious creaminess and expertly balanced flavors made it an undeniable champion in our dessert tasting. The texture was velvety, the coffee notes rich without being overwhelming, and the delicate dusting of cocoa on top added a perfect finishing touch. The manager Cristina had informed us that it had been prepared just a few hours earlier, which may have contributed to its unbeatable quality.

Curious about the origin of this beloved dessert, I learned a fascinating tidbit about its name. The word “Tiramisù,” which translates to “pick me up” in English, has its roots in the Treviso dialect “Tireme su.” This delicious treat was Italianized into its current form during the latter half of the 20th century. Historical records suggest that the Tiramisu first emerged in Treviso, Italy, around the year 1800, a charming city located just a few kilometers from the enchanting canals of Venice. This rich history only added to the experience, making our enjoyment of the dessert feel even more special.

Our verdict

La Casa restaurant is perfect for a nice dinner after a visit to the beautiful Jungceylon Shopping Mall. Also great for a break after a day of exploration of Patong Beach. We probably ordered too much food, but we were very satisfied with the excellent Italian cuisine of La Casa restaurant. Also, for the original Italian setting of the dining room, the relaxed atmosphere, the fantastic friendly service of the smiling team, who accompanied us from the moment we stepped in to the moment we stepped out.

We are already planning the date for the next dinner, this means that we had a really good time and we felt like we were at home. If you drive a car, be aware that the parking space under the shopping mall is large. After paid the bill, please, ask to the restaurant team to get a free parking code!
