A luxurious 5-star resort in Karon Beach

Paradox Resort Phuket, used to be Mövenpick Resort, is a luxurious 5-star hotel located in Karon Beach, one of the most popular tourist destination in Phuket. The hotel is conveniently located a short walk away from the popular Karon beach. It is set amongst 22 acres with beautifully tropical garden, from Patak Road until the beach side. It is surrounded by greenery, with views of the Andaman Sea from the upper floors.

Paradox Resort Phuket features 363 rooms and villas to choose from. It features 2 excellent restaurants, 4 swimming pools, a Kid’s Club, a Gym and a professional Spa with 8 private villas. It has also 10 meeting rooms and a big parking lots. This romantic hotel offers a good range of facilities and services to ensure a comfortable stay.

The location

Paradox Resort is located in a strategic location just a short walk away from Karon Beach. The beach is known mostly for its soft, whistling sand and crystal waters. The hotel is close to the lively Patak Road and Karon roundabout. This area offering a good range of dining shopping and vibrant nightlife. The famous Patong beach is at 10 minutes and the popular Kata Beach is just at 5 minutes from the hotel. Phuket International Airport is at 1h and 15min far away.

The rooms and villas

Paradox Resort Phuket features 363 rooms and villas with 16 room types. I stayed in a Penthouse Plunge Pool Villa with a private rooftop lounge featuring a plunge pool and sundeck. The Penthouse has 72 sqm of living space with a comfortable king-size bed with a garden and Coconut pool view. The room has a large working station on one side and a comfortable sofa, perfect to work on your laptop or watch TV. Electrical plugs are everywhere, very useful for the modern travelers with lots of electronic devices to charge. This type of room is surprisingly spacious and well-appointed, with a range of amenities designed to ensure guests’ comfort and convenience.

The room feature an espresso coffee machine, fast WI-FI, soundproofing, air conditioning, a safe deposit box. There are also bathrobes, slippers, an iron table with iron and so on. Also features a large bathroom with an oversized bathtub with bath soak. In addition, there is a separate rain shower cubicle with all the amenities you can expect from a 5-star hotel.

On the rooftop there is a wonderful private plunge pool with warm water and sundeck. Plus there is a mattress for relaxing with garden view. The garden view is absolutely wonderful.

The rooms are available in different categories: Paradox, Villa, Sangchan, Residence.

Paradox type has 4 sub types: Paradox Superior, Paradox Sea view, Paradox Plunge Pool, and One-Bedroom Suite Sea view.
Villa type has 6 sub types: Cottage, Garden Villa, Plunge Pool villa, Penthouse Plunge Pool Villa, One-Bedroom Suite Villa, and two-Bedroom Suite Villa.
Sangchan type has 4 sub types: Studio, One-Bedroom Suite, Two-Bedroom Suite, and Three-Bedroom Suite.
Residence has 2 sub types: Two-Bedroom Residence and Two-Bedroom Residence Premium (180 degree sea view).

Hotel facilities

Paradox Resort Phuket offers a range of facilities and services to ensure a comfortable stay for its guests. These include 2 restaurants, 4 beautiful swimming pools, a pool bar, a Gym, a Spa, a Kids’ club, basic Yoga and Thai boxing.

Pacifica Restaurant

Pacifica is Paradox Resort’s main all-day dining restaurant serving International and Thai cuisine. The restaurant is well-lit and features approximately 170 indoor and outdoor seating options. It opens at 6.30 am with a rich International breakfast buffet, which you will surely love. There are cereals and croissants, salads and cold cuts and great selection of Thai food to choose from. There is also a great coffee station.

Outside of the restaurant there is an egg station, try the delicious Egg Benedict, you will love it. The Pacifica menu is nicely illustrated and simple with a wide selection of food and drinks. We treated ourselves with Penne Carbonara, an authentic and excellent Italian dish. As main courses we indulged in a Grilled Half Baby Chicken, Pork Chop and a Pan Fried Snapper. Those dishes were so delicious and cooked perfectly.

The surprise came at the end when we tried the Thai dessert (Tub Tim Krob) in Thai. It is a refreshing Thai dessert made mainly with crunchy red water chestnuts covered with tapioca flour served with coconut milk and shaved ice. This delicious Thai dessert is commonly used by Thais to cool down on a hot day especially in a tropical island as Phuket! It’s worth a try.

MINT Bar and Restaurants

Mint Bar and Restaurant is a vibrant open-air restaurant located on the beachfront in Karon Beach, just near the beach volleyball field. Its large terrace offers about 160 different comfortable seats, making it so attractive. It is a place for everyone to socialize and chill especially from sunset time onwards. The bar is so attractive and serves various cocktails, Thai and draught beers, whiskey, wine and so on. Mint Bar and Restaurant is designed with a circular bar counter where the bartenders skillfully mix all kinds of fun cocktails to brighten your meal. The illustrated menu offers a wide range of food and drinks. Including Thai food, Pasta, Salad, Burgers, International food and Pizza.

We treated ourselves in an excellent Grilled Striploin, served with Pepper sauce and Steak fries, salad and Green sauce. It is so tender and perfectly cooked as requested. Then we indulged in Fritto Misto and Spice Fried Seafood, 300 grams a portion. The food is served with an attractive setting making it look more appealing and delicious.

We tried Taco De Gambasal Ajillo, served with Guacamole sauce and fresh tomato. It is a cold and delicious crispy dish especially when savored with a cold beer. We were curious to taste a Thai dish so we indulged in Bua Tord Phuket, Fried Curry Prawn wrapped with Betel Leave. It is a delicious authentic Thai food which we greatly appreciated. The food at Mint restaurant is truly excellent at affordable prices. We love this casual place of Paradox Resort Phuket near the beach and we will come back even for a sunset drink. Opens: 4:00 pm. – Midnight (Last Order 11:30).

The Spa

Paradox Resort has a professional spa based in traditionally thatched Thai villas. These well-equipped 8 villas features professional treatment beds with face cradle. The Spa opens daily from 9 am to 7 pm and features a vast choice of packages. Including oil massages, scrubs, foot massage, body treatments and traditional Thai massage. A spa treatment or a Thai massage during a holiday is a great way to make the best of your trip to Phuket.

Paradox Resort Phuket has a large and colorful Kids Club for children. This well-designed kids’ club has an endless of games and entertainment to delight your kids. A friendly and experienced team can keep the children entertained for days. Open daily from 8 am to 6 pm. The last check-in is at 5 pm.

Fitness Centre of Paradox Resort

The Fitness Centre of Paradox Resort Karon is fully equipped with state-of-the-art equipment. It is a spacious air conditioning Fitness Centre which includes machines as treadmills, free weights, bikes, weight machines. It’s an ideal place to train every day especially for those occasional rainy days. Open daily from 6 am to 10 pm.
