A wonderful weekend to the majestic Santhiya Phuket Natai

Santhiya Phuket Natai Resort & Spa is a luxurious hotel located on a pristine Pilai Beach in the west coast of Phang Nga Province. Pilai beach is very beautiful, quiet and little known by tourists. Santhiya Phuket Natai is the perfect place to escape the crowded beaches and frenzy tourist of Phuket.

The 5-star resort is only 20 minutes from Phuket International Airport. Since Santhiya Phuket Natai is located in a quiet and lush area you will have the opportunity to be rewarded by a truly relaxing holiday. Definitely away from noisy tuk-tuks and boring jet skys!

Santhiya Phuket Natai has an immense infinity pool with an artificial waterfall located on the beachfront. It also has a restaurant and bar right next to the swimming pool. The reception is located in a large pavilion at the rear of the street. This Thai-style wooden pavilion also contains a gym and library.

Open since 2 years Santhiya Phuket Natai currently offers 32 private pool villas. Soon there will be 102 luxurious pool villas with 4 different types to choose from. During my stay some facilities and activities were not available due to the COVID-19 restrictions imposed by the hotel. This luxurious resort is a certified SHA Plus+ hotel.

The location

The majestic Santhiya Phuket Natai is located on the unspoiled and unknown Pilai beach. Pilai beach is on the west coast of Phang Nga Province. This green area remains very quiet, surprisingly even during the high season. So true is it that, it is hard to see people walking except for a few locals.

This beach has the same features as Mai Khao and Sai Kaew beach north of Phuket. The sandy beach is grainy and shaded by tall Casuarina pines and some palm trees.

The rooms

I stayed for 2 nights and 3 days in the luxurious Deluxe Pool Suite (115 sq.m.). The villa has a large terrace with a private pool (28 sq.m.) and sunken bathtub. This suite is well-designed that your neighbors will not be able to see you. So you can enjoy total privacy.

The room is equipped with a large bed and a spacious living room with a sofa. Furthermore, there is a large TV with satellite channels and a dolby CD / DVD player. There is also a safety box, minibar, slippers, bathrobe, umbrellas. The amenities list is very extensive. In addition to free WI-FI and air conditioning, there is also a good number of electrical sockets.

The bathroom is not large but has all amenities that a luxury hotel offers. The room is decorated with Thai style teakwood carvings. There are so many details that you will never stop looking. The Deluxe Pool Suite is perfect for a couple who want to spend a relaxing holiday. You can even request meals in your room without going to the restaurant. Phuket Santhiya Natai’s service is truly excellent. There are 3 types of villas that are more spacious and more luxurious but obviously with a higher price! The restaurant

Chantara is the main restaurant of Phuket Santhiya Natai. It is located near the beautiful infinity pool and a few steps from the pristine Pilai beach. The restaurant is open all day long, and it has 2 large dining rooms with air conditioning. The rich international buffet breakfast starts from 7.30 a.m. till 10.30 a.m. It is also possible to eat by the pool, especially when the sky is blue of course!

The restaurant serves Thai and International cuisine. The menu is rich with reasonable prices. I tried 3 Thai dishes. Stir-fried Chicken with Cashew Nuts, Chicken Curry (Massaman gai) and Grilled Pork Neck. Excellent dishes while following the delicate flavor of Thai cuisine. I also tried an international dish, an Australian beef steak (150g) served with mush potatoes and vegetables. Very good, tender and tasty. Highly recommended if you are a beef lover.

Unfortunately, during my stay I had dinner inside the dining room because it was raining! But it is also possible to eat by the pool, especially during the high season when the weather is stable. Eating by the pool is very relaxing. You will also admire a lush landscape with panoramic views towards the Andaman Sea. You will also enjoy the view of the infinity pool as well as the majestic Teak houses.

Santhiya Natai Waterfall Pool

The luxurious Santhiya Phuket Natai features an infinity pool with the artificial waterfall. The large swimming pool, 140 cm high, is located few steps from the beach. Therefore, the sea view is surprisingly stunning. The pool also features a kids’s pool 50 cm high, suitable for you and your children to enjoy together.

I was impressed by the original design of the sun loungers. These wooden sun loungers have a classic Thai long tail boat shape. Furthermore, they are located on a platform overflowing the pool water. This is truly original and one of a kind design.

The beach

Pilai Beach is a stunning unspoiled golden beach on the Andaman coast. It is located exactly on the south-west coast in the Phang Nga Province. Just think that it is only 10 minutes from the Phuket Sarasin bridge. Despite being close to Phuket, Pilai beach has a very different feel to Phuket beaches.

This is still an undeveloped area. In fact, behind the beach there is a pristine scenery of tropical forest. Although Pilai beach is not far from Phuket it has a very different atmosphere from the beaches of Phuket. There are no beach activities and the beach is not supervised by lifeguards. The luxurious Santhiya Phuket Natai resort is located right on Pilai Beach. The guests of the hotel have direct access to this beautiful beach.

The staff

The Santhiya Phuket Natai crew is very friendly, polite and helpful. They greet you every time they see you. So don’t be surprised if any of them remember your name! Overall, Santhiya Phuket Natai is an excellent resort to enjoy the best of Phang Nga while staying in a quiet but not isolated area!

Things to do and to visit nearby

Samet Nangshe Viewpoint

If you are looking for suggestive places I highly recommend Samet Nangshe Viewpoint. Samet Nangshe Viewpoint is a 30-minute drive (27 km) from the hotel. Without doubt, it is the best viewpoint of Phang Nga, Phuket and Krabi Provinces. The panoramic view extends towards Phang Nga Bay is surprisingly breathtaking, especially during dawn. Many landscape photographers come here at the very early morning for shooting sunrises. About 2 to 4 p.m. it is a good to take selfies and photos of the bay.

James Bond Island

Another must-see in Phang Nga Bay is the famous Ko Khao Phing Kan known as James Bond Island. Now all of you know the famous Bond movie was made in 1974. ‘The Man with the Golden Gun’. The real name of the small limestone islet is Koh Tapu, which means ‘nail island’. I bet many of you already have a souvenir photo with this islet behind you.

Lampi and Ton Prai Waterfalls

About 40 minutes driving (32 km) from Santhiya Phuket Natai Beach there are 2 beautiful waterfalls to visit. Ton Prai and Lampi Waterfalls in Phang Nga Province. These 2 waterfalls are nestled in the Thai Mueang National Park. Therefore, admission is subject to a fee of 100-200 Baht. The best time is from June to December. The flow of water is obviously greater during the rainy season.
