A luxurious resort on Nai Yang Beach

The Slate Phuket is a luxurious resort on Nai Yang Beach set on a large property with a unique and rare design inspired by the tin mining era of Phuket. The Slate Phuket, formerly the Indigo Pearl, was designed by Bill Bensley, and opened in 2007. It is one of the best hotels in Phuket due to its layout, decoration, rooms, and outlets often described as ‘Industrial Chic’.

The Slate Phuket is just a few minutes from Phuket International Airport, and few steps from the lush Nai Yang Beach, making it a great holiday destination far from the crowd. There is no better beach on Phuket than Nai Yang for those who love to relax and peace. The 5-star resort features a total of 185 rooms, each meticulously designed to provide the utmost comfort and luxury.

The immense property has no less than 5 restaurants, 3 beautiful swimming pools, 2 tennis courts, a kid’s club, a well-equipped fitness center and a lush garden with many steel elements carried beautifully across the entire property. The resort has also an excellent award-winning spa, but which 5-star hotels does not have one nowadays.

The Slate Phuket is located in the central part of Nai Yang Beach near the Sirinat National Park, just south of Phuket International Airport. It is superbly nestled in its private paradise rich of beauty and arts adjacent to the unspoiled beach facing the Andaman Sea. The famous and crowded Patong Beach, most known for its notorious nightlife, is 31 km far away in the south. The popular beaches as Freedom Beach, Karon Beach, Kata Beach and Kata Noi Beach are 40/45 km far away from the hotel. These fantastic beaches with white soft sand and crystal clear waters are considered the most beautiful beaches in Phuket.

The passage to reach the Black Ginger lagoon is lit by blue lights hidden behind war shields fixed in the wall. You will be thrilled to walk through this passage before reaching the spot lagoon. Arrived at the spot lit by real torches, you will see the restaurant over the lagoon but, how to reach it?
We were welcomed into a wooden stable raft lit with torches…then the staff began to pull a rope silently to reach the restaurant across the lagoon. We were excited because it was our first beautiful experience to witness this.

The restaurant consist three Thai houses dining outdoor or indoor. It is all dark or probably painted black, but the light distribution creating a very romantic and unique atmosphere.

We tried SET SHARING MENU 1200 THB per person ++ including many Thai dishes and it was a very good choice for us! Appetizers, soup, main dish and dessert was included in the menu.

We had a fantastic experience and unforgettable dinner at the Black Ginger. We ate an excellent and REAL Thai food that we had never tried before in Phuket. Staff were very talented, professional, and polite with us.

Unfortunately that night we did not have the opportunity to meet chef Piak, the guardian of Black Ginger to do a big congratulations. Anyway this is a good reason for coming back to the Black Ginger again because it must-try!
