What are the Best Pizza Restaurants in Phuket?

The best pizza restaurants in Phuket are mainly found in Italian-run restaurants. There are many and sometimes hard to find and often away from the tourist places. Of course, the best known pizzeria could be in Patong, Kata, Karon or other coastal places on the Island. But in inland areas there are pizza restaurants that are worth trying because they serve the best pizza ever. Obviously, these pizza restaurants listed below have a wood oven to obtain the best way to cook pizza.

Despite the high temperatures of 350/400 °C, the cooking process of the pizza in the wood oven is surprisingly short and allows to obtain the right mix between the crunchiness of the outside and the softness of the inside.

It might be weird travel to Phuket for eating pizza and not local food, but there are pizza lovers too. I also built a map at the end of each pizza restaurant to help you locate these great places.

The excellent result is obtained by using selected Italian flours. Of course, a correct preparation of the dough and a lot of experience. 5. Da Moreno at Town

The list of the best pizza restaurant in Phuket is growing and now I add the popular Da Moreno at Town. Da Moreno at Town is an excellent Italian restaurant in the heart of the old Phuket Town. It is in one of those typical Sino-Portuguese shophouses located on Yaowarat Road, just near the now-famous Thalang Road where the Sunday Walking Street Market is.

The traditional Neapolitan pizza is cooked in the wood oven, and it is truly excellent. The most interesting thing was trying the Zappa Pizza, recommended by Moreno because it is not even on the menu. It’s a rectangular pizza baked on cast iron in the wood oven, of course. The crust is crispy and the central part is soft and tasty. Zappa Pizza is a must-try and I highly recommend it. So, Da Moreno at Town strictly deserves to be on the list of the best pizza restaurant in Phuket.

The casual restaurant is located in the Patong Central just opposite the Jungceylon Shopping Mall and just few steps from the notorious Bangla Walking Street. The restaurant known for its delicious Italian dishes, it has gained its popularity also due to its excellent Neapolitan-style pizzas. Da Moreno specialty is the traditional Neapolitan pizza, of course. The pizza menu is surprisingly vast and it will take you a few minutes to choose one. The pizza is expertly cooked in a wood oven by a talented pizza chef. I indulged in a Focaccia Contadina with Parma ham, rocket, fresh cherry tomatoes and mozzarella. The pizza is crunchy, tasty and very good. This is one of the best pizza I have ever tried of Moreno.

Pizzeria da Moreno in Kathu uses the same ingredients and the same method of preparation of the pizza dough as Pizzeria da Moreno in Patong. Therefore, Pizzeria Da Moreno in Kathu absolutely deserves to be on the list of the best pizza restaurant in Phuket. Try the excellent pizzas Da Moreno, you will love them!

The restaurant has a modern look which is very interesting. Yellow walls, lemon trees and nice paintings with blue and yellow hues on a wall, represent some popular destinations in the southern of Italy. The venue is attractive and features outdoor and indoor seating options. The traditional Neapolitan pizza is cooked in a wood-fired oven, making it one of the best pizza in Cherngtalay and in Phuket.

Bucintoro is a well-known Italian restaurant located on Banzaan Road in Patong Beach, near the popular Banzaan Market. Despite being located away from the sea, the restaurant is very popular with Italians and expats for a very long time. It has a modern design and it has air-conditioned dining room and some outdoor seating option. Bucintoro is also known as one of the best pizza restaurant in Phuket.

The pizza menu is extensive and well-illustrated. I indulged in a 4 season pizza which includes spicy salami, artichokes, cooked ham and mushrooms. I also requested black olives as an extra. The pizza is cooked in the gas oven. Despite this, the pizza is really excellent and very digestible. Try the excellent pizza at Bucintoro in Patong beach, you will not regret it. Bucintoro Pizza absolutely deserves to be on the list of the best pizza restaurants in Phuket.

10. Pizzeria Al Fiume

I didn’t know Pizzeria Al Fiume in Kathu, but I heard talking about it very well from my friends. They even said that pizza is one of the best pizza in Phuket, so I decided to try pizza 4 seasons. Pizzeria Al Fiume is located exactly on the roadside, just before reaching the Kathu waterfall.

The rustic design, the wood oven and the great pizza make the place very popular with locals and expats. The pizza cooked in the wood oven is excellent. It remains crunchy on the border and soft in the center. The pizza size is really big compared to the pizza plate. Despite this, the pizza is surprisingly digestible and light. Try it, you will not regret it! The secret lies in a correct leavening of the dough and the use of quality ingredients. All this makes it one of the best pizza restaurant in Phuket.
